This tour is exclusively designed for lovers or Russian history and the Romanovs. You will visit the glory of palaces and museums. You will taste local specialties and perhaps see a spectacular folk dance exhibition. Spend 3 nights each in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Along the way you will be accompanied by not only Romanov expert Greer Firestone but also an experienced guide who has hosted many like tours in these cities over the years. We will bring you firsthand, in-depth knowledge of the country's history, culture and insights of the 300 year Romanov dynasty, emphasizing the reign of Nicholas II.

A tour highlight is St. Petersburg's Winter Palace, the former residence of Tsar Nicholas II, his beloved wife Tsarina Alexandra and their children, Olga, Tatiana, Marie. Anastasia (OTMA) and the Tsarevich Alexei. The opulence of their residences is unparalleled. We will visit the Hermitage Museum with celebrated works of Rembrandt, da Vinci, etc.

DAY 1 -Arrive in St. Petersburg 

Meet Greer Firestone and your international traveling companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel with traditional delicacies. Firestone created the fb group ALEXEI ROMANOV: THE LAST TSAREVICH.

DAY 2 - St. Petersburg

Founded by Peter The Great, construction of the city, Russia's  "The Window to the West", began in 1703. It spread over 100 islands linked by 700 bridges. We start our guided tour with the Winter Palace complex. It is the home of The Hermitage. Next drive along the elegant Nevsky Prospect and visit St. Isaac's Cathedral with its gilded dome and marble columns.

Optional evening: Dinner and Folk Dance performance at Nikolaevsky Palace, escorted by Russian guide and historian Natalia Loginova.

DAY 3 - St. Petersburg

Travel to Pushkin, home of Tsar Nicholas and Tsarina Alexandra and visit the magnificent CATHERINE PALACE. (if closed, visit PAVLOVSK PALACE instead). Balance of the day we will detail with exciting cultural options.

DAY 4 - St. Petersburg to Moscow

Transfer to the railway station and board the high speed SAPSAN TRAIN to Moscow. This evening, enjoy an exciting visit to the MOSCOW UNDERGROUND and RED SQUARE.

DAY 5 - Moscow

Sightseeing with a local guide which includes a visit to the KREMLIN, the city within a city where you can admire the medieval towers, cathedrals and palaces. At the ARMORY MUSEUM, see treasures such as Ivan The Terrible's throne. We will see the Bolshoi Theatre as well.

DAY 6 - Moscow

Many options available. This evening is a farewell dinner with Russian champagne and local specialities.

DAY 7 - Your cultural excursion ends with breakfast

Greer Firestone became fascinated with the Romanovs as a college undergrad when he read NICHOLAS and ALEXANDRA by Massey. He graduated with dual majors in Creative Writing & History.
In 1999 he was playwright of a Rock Opera entitled RASPUTIN, starring Ted Neeley, the title character in the 1973 movie JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Neeley went on to make a career of portraying Jesus for decades. RASPUTIN premiered at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington Delaware in 1999.
Greer took the research from the stage play and wrote the historical novel, ALEXEI and RASPUTIN. The book was sold at the opening of the touring exhibition NICHOLAS and ALEXANDRA at The Chase Riverfront in Wilmington.
Greer created the Face Book group ALEXEI ROMANOV: The Last Tsarevich several years ago and which now has over 2000 dedicated Russophiles.

NATALIA LOGINOVA - Expert Tour Guide

Graduated the University in St. Petersburg with a specialty in history. She is a candidate of Culturology PhD. She continues to write articles on the theory and history of art, as well as books on the history of culture.
She has prepared 55 exhibitions in museums for tourists, including those featuring Nicolas I, Faberge and even America’s Andrew Wyeth. She has curated dozens of historical programs.
